Going big in the south, Viacom 18 Studios has followed up on its memorable films like Devadasa (Telugu) and Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel (Malayalam) with a 6-films announcement to consolidate its position in the regional markets of south India. It will produce one Telugu and five Tamil films starring some big names of the industry, to be released by the end of this year.
The films are:
Manmadhudu-2 (Telugu): The rom-com sequel to blockbuster movie Manmadhudu, starring Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh, and directed by Rahul Ravindran. Releases 9th August 2019.
Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (Tamil): An upcoming romantic film starring Dulquer Salmaan and Rithu Varma in the lead roles and directed by Desingh Periyasamy.
Untitled Tamil film starring Chiyaan Vikram, a drama, directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu. A musical by A R Rahman, which releases in August 2020.
Untitled Tamil film with Karthi and Jyothika in the lead and directed by Jeethu Joseph. Releases October 2019
Tughlak Durbar (Tamil) – A mass offering with satire, drama and action, the film will be a political fantasy starring Vijay Sethupati and directed by Delli Prasad.
Sarbath (Tamil): This film will star Kathir and Rahasya in the lead, and will be directed by Prabhakar.
