After back-to-back global digital premieres of blockbusters including the Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba, ZEE5 is now set to bring its global audiences the critically acclaimed film, The Accidental Prime Minister, starring actors Anupam Kher, Akshaye Khanna, Suzanne Bernert and Aahana Kumra.
The political biopic on the journey of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh premieres for ZEE5’s global audiences across more than 190 countries on Saturday, 25th May 2019.

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar and written by Mayank Tewari, the film is based on the 2014 memoir by Sanjaya Baru, political commentator and media Advisor to the Prime Minister. The Accidental Prime Minister explores the tenure of Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister of India. Despite its heavy context, the film has been lauded for its light-hearted and humorous narrative that takes you through an important era of one of the world’s largest democracies.
