OK, in these testing, frustrating times of a grim but essential lockdown, the bright gleaming silver lining first for TV lovers first – Mussadilal is set to make a return on television today. It will air twice every weekday, Mondays to Fridays, on Sony SAB; only, today, it airs once, at 10.30 pm
One side effect of the lockdown has been the revival or return of some extremely popular shows that were marquee properties some time back, and the lastest addition to the industry’s answer to stopped shoots and therefore depletion of ongoing show banks is something one’ll look forward to tonight, i.e Monday the 13th of April on Sony SAB, where Office Office returns to regale viewers. Definitely, amongst the Top 50 shows on Indian Television over all the past decades of shows on Terrestrial, Cable and Satellite television, Office Office has been an iconic comedy and should give viewers a much-needed dose of mirth and happiness.
What it should definitely also do is drive Sony SAB’s viewership stake deeper. Remember, the fact that Sony SAB has always presented extremely entertaining and engaging content that first entertains, and then, can be watched with the entire family. And now, joining the stellar lineup of shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Baalveer Returns, Bhakharwadi, Maddam Sir, Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga and others is Office Office, which has garnered much love from fans following its initial release. These are a great cluster of light-hearted values-driven shows enjoyed by households across the country.
To get back to why Office Office is a show that everyone including the youngsters of today who may have missed it earlier will enjoy, well, Office Office features a fabulous cast of some of the finest actors in the industry, including Pankaj Kapur, Deven Bhojani, Sanjay Mishra and Manoj Pahwa, amongst others.
It’s a comedy for all generations that revolves around the character ‘Mussadilal’ and his struggle to get his work done from an office filled with employees all having annoying yet entertaining and unique characteristics. Office Office aired some 19 years ago and presented a truly fresh take on comedy with immaculately crafted episodic stories and an array of characters that continue to be highly relatable even today.
The show amassed a huge following due to its rib-tickling humour, family-friendly content and endearing characters being by superb actors.
All of which you can catch starting at one of two time slots each weekday: 6 pm and 10.30 pm on Sony SAB. Today, Monday, the 13th of April, it’s only at 10.30 pm, but from tomorrow, Tuesday the 14th, it will air at 6 pm and 10.30 pm. I’ll probably repeat the viewing.
Neeraj Vyas, Business Head, Sony SAB, has said, “We are bringing Office Office back on Indian Television in an attempt to put smiles on the faces of our viewers. We proudly call ourselves as ‘Happiness Enablers’, and during these tough times, our intention is to continue to deliver quality content that families across India can enjoy together.
“Office Office,” Vyas says, “is one of the most beloved shows on Indian television, and we are extremely happy to bring it back for our discerning viewers. The show’s highly relatable content and humor will attract both sets of audiences – the ones who cherished and loved the show when it first aired as well as the younger viewers who might be discovering the show for the first time…”
Get ready for khushiyon wali feelings as ‘Office Office’ is set to make it’s grand come back from 13 April 2020, Monday to Friday, at 6 PM and 10.30 PM only on Sony SAB. The 6 pm airing begins from Tuesday, the 14th of April.
