The second installment in the brilliant horror franchise The Conjuring, is a modern horror classic. No Halloween is complete without a tale of demonic possession and The Conjuring 2 ticks all the boxes that a solid horror film should. The plot continues to follow the story of the Warrens and their struggle against demonic possession. If you haven’t watched it, you should. If you’ve watched it already, watch it again, it only gets scarier.

  1. The Woman in Black & The Woman in Black 2

Starring Daniel Radcliffe, The Woman in Black follows the story of a lawyer who travels to a remote village to settle the legal affairs of an eccentric client. He soon learns the villagers are hiding a dark secret. A secret in the form of a malevolent spirit so vengeful, not even children are safe from her terrible wrath. It’s dark and it’s scary and it’s sure to give you the creepers-jeepers. On the other hand, “The Woman in Black 2” is set during World War II. Due to the bombings in London, school-teachers Eve Parkins and Jean Hogg evacuate their students to a shelter. However, they soon realize they aren’t alone. The evil presence within the shelter seeks to consume them all, especially the children.

Both films are perfect to binge on, on a cold, dark Halloween night.

  1. Lights Out

Lights Out follows the story of Rebecca and her boyfriend as they try to investigate the connection between her mother and her imaginary friend, Diana, after her stepfather is murdered by a supernatural entity. It’s as unnerving as a horror film can get.

  1. Oculus

Based on two siblings trying to cope with their parents’ violent deaths, this psychological horror film makes will keep you on the edge of your seat. Revolving around the struggle with their own relationship, the siblings become aware of a malevolent presence that resides in an antique mirror that corrupts the minds of anyone who looks into the mirror. It’s dark, and a must watch for viewers who enjoy movies that impact the mind.
