Critically-acclaimed movie ‘Nakkash’, presented by Golden Ratio Films, a Film Production and Distribution arm of the renowned Singapore-based Media Investment entity, Vistas Media Capital (VMC) has won big at India International Film Festival of Boston, USA. The movie, directed by Zaigham Imam which stars actor Inaamulhaq as the lead has won two awards in the ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Director’ categories at the prestigious film festival.
The film was screened at IIFFB, USA on 14th September 2019 and depicts the story of an artist named Alla Rakha Siddiqui, who is a widower living with his only son Mohammad in Varanasi. Alla Rakha is a Muslim who works on designs and engraves idols of Gods in the temple. Looked down upon by everyone in his community because of his father’s profession, Mohammad gets refused for admission in a Madrasa.
The trustee of the temple, Bhagwandas Tripathi aka Vedanti ji supports Alla a lot for the respect that he has for his art & creativity, which he believes is given to him by God. Soon, Alla gains popularity as a symbol of accord with a news article for which Munna, an aspirant politician loses his election ticket. What happens to Alla, a cast-off from his commune and disdained from Munna is the tale of NAKKASH.

The Nakkash team unveiled the first look of the film at India Pavilion, at 71st Cannes Film Festival. The film has already gone places where the director won the title of ‘Emerging Filmmaker of the Year’ in Singapore South Asian Film Festival 2018 and the Lead Actor Inaamulhaq won the ‘Best Actor Award’ for his performance in “Nakkash” at DCSAFF (DC South Asian Film Festival, Washington).
The Singapore based brand has been instrumental in funding some critically acclaimed movies across languages such as The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, which was the Tamil super star’s (Dhanush) first Hollywood film, the modern remake of Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyu Aata Hai and International Award Winning and highly acclaimed film Bhonsle featuring Padma Shri Winner Manoj Bajpayee and Marathi Film Star Santosh Juvekar, which is currently being screened at various Leading International Film Festivals.
