Cambium will collaborate with Facebook to help local entrepreneurs and operators to offer fast and affordable internet access in local communities. Atul Bhatnagar, President and CEO of Cambium Networks,  said the decision is “in line with our mission of bringing affordable connectivity to the world.”

Express Wi-Fi is a solution to help operators and local entrepreneurs offer fast and affordable internet access in public spaces. For Express Wi-Fi, Facebook is working with carriers, internet service providers, and local entrepreneurs to help expand connectivity to underserved locations around the world. It is currently live in India, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Indonesia.

Express Wi-Fi empowers local entrepreneurs to help provide quality internet access to their neighbors and make a steady income. Working with local internet service providers or mobile operators, they’re able to use software provided by Facebook to connect their communities.

Facebook believes that when people are able to purchase fast, affordable and reliable internet, they’re able to explore the range of information it has to offer including news, education, health, job postings, entertainment, and communication tools like Facebook.
